Winner of the 2017 Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR. Louisiana Corn Festival has been held the 2nd full weekend of June since 1986. Carnival for the kids and late music and good times for the grown-ups! We promise you’ll have a corn shuckin’ good time!

The Bunkie Chamber of Commerce is ready to work with businesses to help build a successful startup plan. Our economic development industrial park in Bunkie is ready for development with incentives and training grants to draw in new industry. Tax credit incentive programs, such as Work Opportunity Tax Credit Zones, has helped business grow with low-cost skilled labor. Bunkie is good for business development due to the following: little union activity, easy permitting, competitive below-average wage, and government support from local, state, and federal agencies for infrastructure to support startups with business development grants.

 

Tourism

Just off I-49, Bunkie is the gateway to colorful, Avoyelles Parish, settled by Creole French in 1807and still home to the Tunica-Biloxi Indian Tribe . “12 Years a Slave” (now a major motion picture) centered on slave life on plantations that once line Bayou Beouf and now marked by the Solomon Northup Historic Trail. RV enthusiasts flock to Gator Grounds Resort year round. Bunkie honors the history of our veterans service and sacrifice at Bunkie Veterans Memorial.
